A compendium of digital initiatives by Tribune Company ex pats

TRIBUNE HISTORY
  • After being pulled from a basket floating in the Chicago River by Mike Silver, I joined his happy Tribune Media Services clan in late 1992. My first job was overseeing the building of a pyramid known as the Voice News Network, a phone news delivery system, which was either the last gasp of a dying technology or the first breathtaking glow of electronic newspaper content. When Tribune Interactive was spawned at TMS in 1998, I was the first editor of Between Editions aka Central News aka Shared News Service which, under the firm yet wizened hand of Scott of Anderson, yielded years of shared fruit for all near and far. This continued under the rule of many pharoahs until a rival tribe burned our village, casting us out unto the media wilderness in August of 2008 during Year 16 of our reign.
